American Legion Fire 9/14/09
Shortly after 11:30pm on September 14th, the CCVFC received a call for a structure fire at the American Legion Hall in Colchester. Upon arrival, Assistant Chief Sandy Ladd reported heavy fire at the rear of the building. Fighting the fire was difficult due to the presence of multiple roofs from many renovations over the buildings lifetime. No one was in the building, and the cause had not been determined as of this posting. In addition to the CCVFC and St. Michael’s College, fire departments from Mallett’s Bay and Milton were called to the scene. Other area departments covered stations during the incident. We finally cleared the scene about 13 hours later, and are grateful to all the departments who assisted us during this incident. Here are pictures and video of the fire.
